Leica Geosystems has been building precision surveying equipment since 1921. In 1993, building from reflectorless technology that revolutionized land surveying, Leica introduced the first handheld laser distance meter.
Even this first generation DISTO had features that went well-beyond simple "point and shoot" measurement. Take those two “on” buttons, for example. Press the upper one to measure from the front, or the lower one to measure from the back. They are the ancestors of the intelligent endpiece DISTOs use today.
For over twenty years, the DISTO team has been hard at work, incorporating advancements in technology to make DISTOs smaller, lighter, more powerful, and ever more useful. In the years since that first DISTO, new products such as Lino laser levels and the 3D DISTO have been added to a long line of precision measuring equipment.
At the touch of a button the Leica DISTO™ D1 measures heights, distances as well as niches quickly and reliably. Complicated or dangerous measurement situations, where ladders may be necessary, are now in the past. The functionality of the DISTO™ D1 can be extended with the Leica DISTO™ sketch app via BlueTooth. With this app you can transfer measuring results to smart phones or tablets, process and forward them.
The Leica DISTO X6 is especially suitable for rough construction sites. With an IP65 rating, the extremely robust housing protects against dust and water jets and is drop tested from a height of 2m, underlining the reliability and durability of this laser measure.
Now with Bluetooth®, a fully integrated intelligent endpiece, a bright white display and an ISO certified measuring engine that drives ± 1.5 mm accuracy and 100 metre measuring range. The Leica DISTO™ D2 is a 7 measurement mode LDM accurate to ± 1.5 mm. It features an intuitive back-lit LCD display in a 100g package that is small enough to fit in your pocket.
The rugged Leica DISTO™ X-series combines innovative measuring technologies with a site-proof design and simple user interface. Together with the Leica DST 360, the X-series can be turned into a powerful 3D capturing station.
